Prayer For Young Persons from The Book of Common Prayer

God our Father, you see your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world: Show them that your ways give more life than the ways of the world, and that following you is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold their faith in you, and to keep alive their joy in your creation; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Youth Group

There are many opportunities for teens to grow in faith through trusted personal relationships with their peers and appropriate adult advisors.  We are committed to creating a safe place place for middle and high school teens where matters of the heart and soul can be shared and discussed. All staff and volunteers who work with young people at Church of the Resurrection has been background-checked by the state of California and have received training and recognizing and preventing child abuse.

Youth Group
On most Sundays our youth group meets on Sunday evening. In addition to goofing around we explore a range of contemporary issues of life and faith. Our hope is to give our kids a solid understanding of the Episcopal Church and Christianity, then ask them to question it, test it with their own experience and apply it to the world. The teens also take on periodic service projects, retreats and trips to places like Squaw Valley, Disneyland and Santa Cruz.

This will be a magical day as Grace Cathedral turns into the Hogwarts school and children ages 6 and up (and their parents) come together to explore the roots of Anglican faith found in every chapter of the seven books. Bring your friends in the Potter fandom and have your wands ready for a spectacular day.  9am-2:30pm; $40 for the first child (per family), $30 for the second sibling, $20 for the third; Adult chaperones are free.
