For the Conservation of Natural Resources from The Book of Common Prayer

Almighty God, in giving us dominion over things on earth, you made us fellow workers in your creation: Give us wisdom and reverence so to use the resources of nature, that no one may suffer from our abuse of them, and that generations yet to come may continue to praise you for your bounty; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Care of the Earth Committee encourages and facilitates Environmental Stewardship.  Ongoing programs include waste reduction, recycling, composting, education, organic garden, and solar power.  We support the House of Bishops' Genesis Covenant, an initiative by which the Episcopal Church has committed "to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from every facility it maintains by a minimum of 50% in ten years." We're beginning outreach via the DioCal Commission for the Environment and local environmental groups.  We meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Plaza Room.
